Water For The Thirsty Soul

Water For The Thirsty Soul

Water For The Thirsty Soul

When I was twelve years old my mother and father divorced. That was a significant “life changing event” in my life. As a result, I lost interest in school, sports, and life. My grades quickly descended from A’s and B’s to D’s and F’s.  For me, life had lost its value and meaning. It became visible to my geography teacher, Mr. George Formica.  He noticed the drastic change in my grades and behavior.  One day, he pulled me aside and asked “what is going on in your life”. After listening, he encouraged me not to give up because of the potential he saw in my abilities.  He saw potential in me! Those very words lifted my spirit from despair to hopeful. Those words “I see potential in you, don’t give up” was water to my thirsty soul.
My Challenge to You: The next time a friend or family member find themselves in a crisis; let your words of hope and encouragement be water for their thirsty soul.
